RE: Collection System Permit No;:WQCS00020 Notice Of Violation, Tracking No.: NOV-2023-DV-0104 Dear Mr. Pitner: The purpose Of this correspondence is to respond to the Notice of Violation (Tracking No.: NOV-2023-DV- 0104) for.the City of Hickory Collection System (Permit No. WQCS00020) that occurred January 6, 2023 and January 30,2023. Incident#202300035 was the result of a 4" forrce main breaking behind the gate valve at a pump station: The City of Hickory crews repaired the; broken force main as quickly as possible. The City of Hickory crews pumped and hauled While repairs were being made. Once the' repairs were made the crews cleaned up the area where the spill;occurred. Incident#202300171 was the result of a blockage caused by rags and grease. The City of Hickory crews jetted the 8" sewer line until the blockage was cleared. After the spill was stopped the crews worked to clean up the area.
