SUMMARY OF HISTORIC ARCHICTECTURE AND LANDSCAPES REVIEW

potential effects.
® There are no properties less than fifty years old which are considered to meet Criteria
Consideration G within the project's area of potential effects.

meet the criteria for listing on the National Register.

Date of field visit: March 2019
Description of review activities, results, and conclusions:
Review of HPO quad maps, relevant background reports, historic designations roster, and indexes was
undertaken on May 8, 2018. Based on this review there are no NR, DE, LL, SL, or SS in the Area of
Potential Effects (APE). An initial field survey found four properties that required a full evaluation for
National Register eligibility. The report recommended two properties eligible, but NCHPO concurred
with only one —the Chapin Orchard. Since that time USACE has defined the permit areas only to be
subject to Section 106. The closest permit to Chapin Orchard is more than 8000 feet away. No historic
properties will be affected by this project.
