Snider: The purpose of this letter is to respond to your letters for Permit # WQCS00350. I received the letter for 0188 on Monday, July 25, 2022 and I received the letter for 0189 on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Below please fine a response to each SSO: 0188: This SSO was caused by the rupturing of a 14" gate valve just outside of The Farm Pumping Station on the force main side. We hired a company to perform a pump around and they had issue after issue. We also hired a company to perform a line -stop while we replaced the fittings in this area of the force main. 0189: The second SSO was caused by a tee in the same force main that blew out. We again hired a company to perform a line stop while this tee was replaced. For both of these, everything has been corrected with new materials. We have also ordered redundant part for any future failures. Also know that this spill was many miles upstream of our water treatment plant and nothing was ever detected there. There were no impacts to public health, fish kills, or recreational closures. Please let me know if you need more detail or have any issues or concerns with our resolutions listed above. Sincerely 79 T. Scott Barrow, PE, PLS City Engineer & Interim City Manager
