Behind 240 Spring Garden St. Winstcr-' Regior. ; Dear Mr. Lon Snider: On March 16th, 2021 the City of Asheboro Water and Sewer Maintenance department got a call about grey water in the creek. Our departments investigator responded to the call right away and found the location of the problem. Sewer was surfacing from underground between manhole #2738 and manhole #2742. He called a crew in to fix the problem. The crew arrived and jetted the line for a total of 190 feet. The crew excavated down on the sewer main to find that a joint of pipe was leaking from around the bell. They installed a bell joint clamp to pull the pipe together and hold it for a permanent fix. We ran 2 hydrants for 12 hours to flush the creek. We spread lime in the area that the sewer came in contact with the ground. The City of Asheboro requests that NCDENR refrain from taking any enforcement action for this incident. We acted immediately to stop the overflow and repair the pipe. There was no environmental impact. Thank you for your time in this matter. If you have any questions please call me at 336-626- 1234 ext. 2205. Sincerely, Shannon White Water/Sewer Maintenance Superintendent
