He arrived onsite to find manhole #2911 was overflowing. He called a crew in to remove the blockage right away. The crew Jetted the sewer main with a Vactor truck connected to the easement machine from manhole #2864 to manhole #2864 to remove the blockage. We found that the sewer main was stopped up with rags and paper towels. We TV'd the main to make sure the blockage was clear and that there was no more issues. We made arrangements with Sarah at the Waste Water Treatment Plant to have door tags distributed in the area affecting this manhole. The City of Asheboro requests that the NCDENR refrain from taking any enforcement action as a result of this incident. There was no environmental impact. The Water and Sewer Maintenance Department acted immediately on the problem. Thank you for your time in this matter. If you have any questions please contact me at 336-626-1234 ext. 2205. Sincerely, Shannon White Water/Sewer Maintenance Superintendent NpV 2020DO 0WJ ATTACHMENT A City of Asheboro CASE NUMBER: DV-2021-0011 PERMIT NO: WQCS00025 FACILITY: Asheboro Collection System REGION: Winston-Salem COUNTY: Randolph Other Violations INCIDENT VIOLATION TOTAL VOLUME PENALTY NUMBER DATE VIOLATION TYPE VIOLATION DESCRIPTION (GALLONS) AMOUNT 202002262 8/2/2020 CSO/SSO(Sewer Overflow) Discharge without valid permit 12,500 $0.00 202002474 8124/2020 CSO/SSO(Sewer Overflow) Discharge without valid permit 6,375 $500.00 0
