Brittany, Yes we got a wastewater exemption from the city (attached). This site is like any other petroleum product storage tanks site and the tanks are in a concrete dike. We are planning to pump the dike stormwater through this O/W Separator before discharging to the outfall. The oil collected in the O/W separator will be recycled in our plant or will be disposed of using a certified disposal contractor. Please let me know if you have any questions. Industrial Dr., Zebulon, INC 27597 Dear Chuck Pakala, Thank you for reaching out to confirm the policies of Raleigh Water regarding the discharge of boiler blowdown to the sanitary sewer system. Per your proposal, • The boiler water does not directly contact the products, materials, or processes at the manufacturing facility. 4 • Small amounts of boiler blowdown will be discharged to the sanitary sewer —approximately 100 to 130 gallons per day. • Chemicals for the treatment of pH, Calcium, and corrosion inhibition of the boiler will be included in the discharge —approximately 300 ml/day of FDA approved chemical BL850. • A steel tank will be used to dissipate the heat from the boiler blowdown before it is discharged to the sanitary sewer. This letter serves as an authorization for the discharge boiler blowdown at Braven Environmental, LLC at 517 N. Industrial Dr., Zebulon, NC. Please note the City of Raleigh Sewer Use Ordinance specifically prohibits wastewater having a pH of less than 5.0 or greater than 12.0 as well as wastewater having a temperature greater than 150 degrees Fahrenheit (66 degrees Celsius), see Sec. 8-2113(b). Please contact me at any time should you have any questions or concerns. I can be reached at 919-996- 3715 or electronically at Sarah. ornick ralei hnc. ov. Sincerely, r r Sarah Gornick Industrial Pretreatment Coordinator cc: file I apologze I missed your voicemail. The application is still under review. I'll need to look at it tomorrow. Has this site acquired a Wastewater permit? I read the inspection report and I am concerned about where your generated wastewater is going, the NCG08 does not allow for the discharge of wastewater, only pure stormwater from O&W Separators.
