Project Name: NCDOT Project Bridge 840037 proposed replacement on NC 268 (Lynchburg Road) over Big
Creek in Stokes County; STIP No. BR-0102.
Potential Surface Waters Impacted: Big Creek and Dan River; Roanoke River Basin; Stream Classifications are
C, Trout; Index Nos. 22-9 and 22-1.
Site Address/Location: 36.4481-80.2849 (Dan River)
Dear Ms. Euliss:
We received your request (referenced above) to the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for a Preliminary
Jurisdicitonal Determination dated February 15, 2023. Accordingly, the Division of Water Resources (DWR) staff
conducted a review of stream features presented in your request.
DWR concurs with the stream delineations conducted by Three Oaks Engineering, Inc. staff described above and
identified in the attached map (Figure 1).
At the time of this letter, all perennial stream channels found on the property and described herewith, are subject to
the mitigation rules cited above. Please note that these regulations may be subject to change in the future.
This determination shall expire five (5) years from the date of this letter. The owner (or future owners) should
notify the Division (and other relevant agencies) of this decision in any future correspondences concerning this
property. Landowners or affected parties that dispute this determination made by the Division may request a
determination by the Director of Water Resources. This determination is final and binding unless an appeal
request is made within sixty (60) calendar days of the date of this letter to the Director in writing.

does not approve any activity within buffers or within waters of the state. There may be other streams or
features located on the property that do not appear on the maps referenced herewith. Any of the features on the site
may be considered jurisdictional according to the US Army Corps of Engineers and subject to the Clean Water Act.
