To whom it may concern:

I am responding to the enclosed NOV on behalf of the City of Saluda WWTP.

On January 4th, 2023 there was an upset of the clarifiers, chlorine contact chamber and effluent
due to heavy rains. Approximately 2 inches of rainfall from the evening of 1/3/2023 to the
morning of 1/4/2023. This upset caused the limit exceedances. Remedial actions were taken, and
the plant returned to compliance by the following week as evidenced by subsequent sampling
results. Further explanation can be found on the 5-Day Report also attached.
