Effluent concentrations of metals at this facility are being limited at the water quality standard. However, I failed to change the limit for nickel from the old standard (50 µg/l) to the most recent standard of 88 µg/l. This was brought to my attention after Mr. Bill Frazier, the ORC for this facility, questioned the limit given. (I did not call Mr. Frazier.) If you have any questions, please advise. cc: Steve Mauney f Page 1 Note for Ruth Swanek 1 From: Trevor ClementsV\C, Date: Wed, Feb 3, 1993 2:28 PM O8g Subject: Highpoint Eastside 30c/ To: Coleen Sullins; Ruth Swanek d f b Bill Frazier, the ORC with HighPoint Eastside, called. He has discovered errors in their NPDES permit that was made effective January 1 (nice timing). The nickel limit is listed as 50 mg/l! Obvioiusly an error. Please have appropriate staff check into what it should be. At lust I thought it was probably a typo (i.e., ug instead of mg), but the standard is 88 ug/l now so this needs a close review. Also, Bill said the WWTP description was not accurate and, if changes are made to the permit, he'd like that corrected. His number is (919)883-3410. (I told him that the permit writer would probably contact him to discuss corrections)
