This permit is issued pursuant to the requirements of North Carolina General Statute 143-215.1 and the Memorandum of Agreement between North Carolina and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency dated May 9, 1994 (or as subsequently amended). Other disposal options:N/A PART IV-EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS The applicant requests renewal of the subject NPDES Permit that authorizes the discharge from a community drinking water well with cation exchange resin water softeners. The filters backwash intermittently and discharge into a storm water channel that eventually drains to Lake Norman. The filters are designed to remove CaCO3 (hardness) from the well water. Pending a final review by the NPDES Permitting Unit, it is recommended that the Permit be reissued as reques -d.
