IV. ADDITIONAL REGIONAL STAFF REVIEW ITEMS
On February 27, 2023, Division of Water Resources staff Caitlin Caudle conducted a permitting site visit. The
proposed application area was reviewed. Chris Murray, LSS, was present during the entire visit.
Two additional swales in the application area were found durinii this site visit. Mr. Murrav provided an undated soils
map showing where the additional swales are. The majority of the application area is wooded and will require
minimal clearing. Mr. Murray clarified that the Bt horizons were lumped and gl' ey colors appeared where the seasonal
high water table was described, meaning the SHWT is 15 inches or deeper. The high clay content in the Bt horizon
also supports a perched water table. Based on a soil boring completed by Ms. Caudle, there is at least 12 inches of
separation from the ground surface to the perched water table.
