The above overflow was caused by grease from a private neighborhood that restricted flow in the intercepting manhole. Once the manhole was cleared the spill stopped. The line upstream was cleaned to prevent future spills. The frequency of monitoring has also been increased to help prevent any future spills in this area. We distributed FOG doorhangers in the area to help with grease disposal education and have not had any other issues in this area. The above overflow was caused by grease and roots that were found in the manhole blocking the invert. The lines feeding this area had been recently checked and flushed as part of our collection system mini map cleaning program. We believe the recent cleaning may have been the cause of the overflow due to the amount of lines cleaned in this area. Once the invert was cleared the manhole level dropped. This line was cleaned, and the frequency of monitoring has been increased to help prevent any future spills in this area. We do have FOG doorhangers that we distribute in instances like this to help with educating residents on proper disposal of grease. This line was added to the root treatment program to assist with preventing any future overflows.
