Dear Mr. Boone:
-The-City--of Asheboro Water/Sewer Maintenance Department received a call on September 10th, 2022.ab6ut a
manhole running.over near 2028 McPherson St. The Water/Sewer Maintenance Departments investigator responded.
immediately: The Investigator found that manhole #680 was overflowing. He called a crew in to unstop the sewer
immediately. -
The crew arrived on site -and started jetting,with the Vactor. They jetted 553 ft. of sewer:line from manhole
#678 to manhole #677 and the main dropped out and we found a lot of roots when it.dropped out: We followed up with
an outfall camera and found more roots in the line up stream. We used the Vactor and jetted the line with a root cutter',
to remove all roots in the line in this area. The line is now clear with no obstructions,
The City of Asheboro requests that the NCDENR refrain from taking any enforcement action as a result of this
incident. The Water/Sewer Maintenance Department displayed a prompt response time. There was no environmental
