Figure 1: Vicinity Map Overview rw \ 4 > A N Project Site Gtetwood Universal Water& Sewer McDowell County,NC Page 1 of 2 December 2022 TYPE OF DEVELOPMENT Gravitv Sewer Line Extension In an effort to increase the industrial development opportunities in the County and western part of the State, McDowell County and the City of Marion have purchased a 100 acre tract adjacent to I-40 and McDowell County Community College, known as the Universal Access Site. In order to develop the Universal Access Site, the County applied for and received a $600,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) for street construction within the County's Universal Park. The County also applied for Industrial Development Funds (IDF) for the installation of new water and sewer line utilities to provide service to these tracts for future industrial development and job growth. The scope of work includes, but is not limited,to the following (sewer permit): ■ Approximately 2,750 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer line (along with 210 FL of 8-inch force main), seventeen (17) 4-foot diameter pre-cast sewer manholes and associated appurtenances and site work Improvements requiring permit approval will include the installation of the new 8-inch gravity sewer lines and manholes to convey wastewater to the City of Marion's wastewater collection system by connecting to an existing gravity manhole. Treatment Wastewater collected from the City of Marion's sewer collection system is currently conveyed through an existing gravity collection and sewer force main network to the City's Corpening Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant(WWTP). The current project will not include any improvements or direct impacts to the City of Marion's existing wastewater facilities. ---END OF NARRATIVE--- Universal Water&Sewer McDowell County,NC Page 2 of December 2022 Section E Flow Tracking/Acceptance Form (FTSE 10-18) U V4 DEC 21 2022 I / State of North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality DWK Water Quality Regional Operations Division of Water Resources ..Mvision of Vbarer Resee;- - Asheville Regional OfficFlow Tracking for Sewer Extension Applications (FTSE 10-18) Entity Requesting Allocation: City of Marion Project Name for which flow is being requested: Universal Access Rd Water& Sewer Ext More than one FTSE may be required for a single project if the owner of the WWTP is not responsible for all pump stations along the route of the proposed wastewater flow.
