Response to Permit Compliance Audit Report / Notification of Intent to Comply
Dear Mr. Reed:
The City of Charlotte is in receipt of the Notice of Compliance (NOC-2023-PC-0930) and Permit
Compliance Audit Report issued by you on October 10, 2022. We are responding to acknowledge
the following:
(1) We received the notice and report on October 11, 2022.
(2) We intend to comply with the requirements stated in the notice which include:
a. development of a new Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) for the upcoming
five-year permit term and submittal by February 8, 2023, which is 120 calendar
days after receiving NCDEQ's notice, and
b. submittal of an NPDES MS4 permit application for whichever comes first (i) at least
180 days prior to permit expiration, or (ii) within 30 days of receiving written
NCDEQ concurrence that the submitted SWMP documents a compliant stormwater
management program.
(3) We will respond to any comments on the draft Final SWMP and submit a signed Final SWMP
for NCDEQ approval and final permit issuance.
(4) We will take further action accordingly to comments, issues and recommendations in our
Permit Compliance Audit Report or otherwise discussed during the audit.
