RE: Renewal Request for LAMA Major Permit No. 24-81
New Hanover County, NC
Dear Ms. Wilson:
RECEIVED
OCT 11 2022
®CM WI'LMINGTON,
The purpose of this letter is to formally request renewal of CAMA Major Permit No. 24-81 issued to the
Helms Port Yacht Club (HPYC) on August 23, 2019. The BOD believes the renewal of the permit and
future maintenance of the Yacht Club by the HPYC Association is vital to the long-term success of the
Yacht Club and neighborhood. The permit has been in place since 1981 and we request the permit be
renewed to allow it to continue in the future.
We note the following:
• The purpose and use of the HPYC has not changed. It is and will remain a private community
marina for the exclusive use of HPYC members and their guests.
• There is no current or future planned expansion for the HPYC facilities. All surrounding lots have
been purchased and the facility is thereby landlocked and future expansion is not possible.
• We request that for future maintenance of the HPYC, the maintenance clause remain to allow
for maintenance dredging in accordance with the maximum depth (-6 feet below normal low
water level) set forth in the referenced permit and original permit plans (HPYC maintains a copy
of these plans).
To facilitate renewal of this permit, please find enclosed our renewal fee check for $100. If you need
any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Rick Puckett at 910-540-1088. Thank you
for your assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
l1G rC(GGPitit
President, HPYC
