The permit should be modified to reflect the monitoring requirements for a class III rather than II. Can you do that after it's already been issued? It was an oversight, you would have been notified by us but our staff report didn't get done in time to help you, nor did we respond in time to catch the permit while it was in the review period. This is achieved by the chemical addition and simultaneous precipitation of the phosphorus and activated sludge in the clarifier unit. The phosphorus is then removed from the system with the waste activated sludge. This phosphorus removal process does meet the intent of recent rule changes to increase the classification of wastewater systems that achieve nutrient reduction one level. It should be noted that the addition of this chemical is a fairly straightforward procedure and does not significantly increase the operational complexity of this facility.
