HomeMy WebLinkAbout15A NCAC .1T Temporary Rules Public Hearing NoticeNORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given for public comments to be received by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), Division of Water Resources (DWR), concerning three temporary rules comprising 15A NCAC 01T. A public hearing will be held, at which oral comments can be provided on any of the three proposed temporary rule sections. Written comments can also be submitted. The public hearing can be attended in person or online via Webex. Additional details are provided in this notice. PURPOSE: To receive comments on the proposed temporary rules: 15A NCAC 01T .0100 Aquatic Weed Fund 15A NCAC 01T .0200 Shallow Draft Navigation Channel Dredging Fund 15A NCAC 01T .0300 Coastal Storm Damage Mitigation Fund BACKGROUND: Per SL 2022-74 (An Act to Modify the Current Operations Appropriations Act of 2021 and to Make Other Changes in the Budget Operations of the State), Section 12.1, the DWR is required to adopt temporary rules to implement the policies or guidelines for the administration of funds from G.S. 143-215.73F(b1) (applies to the Shallow Draft Navigation Channel Dredging and Lake Maintenance Fund and the Aquatic Weed Control Fund) and G.S. 143-215.73M(b1) (applies to the Coastal Storm Damage Mitigation Fund). The proposed temporary rules will become effective February 2023 (exact date unknown) and will be in place until permanent rules can be adopted.
