Inorganic chemicals are manufactured at the plant. Previous WLA was based on BPJ, which was more stringent than the WQ standard. Facility is currently performing whole effluent toxicity tests using the fathead minnow. -Pt. fog d Tech Support will recommend toxicity testing be performed using the organism.CP64 Kepi E,ACtLesem/AQ.IATIGToxtacovy) DMR data indicate the facility is capable of meeting all limits with the exception of Zinc and occasionally NH3-N. Permitted value for Copper is different than that recommended in previous WLA. Region should comment if this is in error or if this is the product of negotiations with the facility. Mineral Research and Development appears capable of meeting the limit put into the permit. a.2tr ro cu)uct-ryfs -rs AgG, BELN4 ,-FAs4 ". currerrf 25h ma1io on F { a.re anal; abit ,Aerekr4 PPrr -rioa) /: rn i!3 Ys)a y Ghu 791 a l H t' ! The monitoring shall be performed as a Cerrodaphnia 48 hour static test, using effluent collected as a 24 hour composite. The LC50 of this effluent using the previously stated methodology may at no time in any two consecutive toxicity tests be less than 45 %. Effluent samples for self -monitoring purposes must be obtained during representative effluent discharge below all waste treatment. Total residual chlorine of the effluent toxicity sample must be measured and reported if chlorineis employed for disinfection of the waste stream. Should any single quarterly monitoring indicate a failure to meet specified limits, then monthly monitoring will begin immediately until such time that a single test is passed. Upon passing, this monthly test requirement will revert to quarterly in the months specified above. Should any test data from either these monitoring requirements or tests performed by the North Carolina Division of Environmental Management indicate potential impacts to the receiving stream, this permit may be re -opened and modified to include alternate monitoring requirements or limits. NOTE: Failure to achieve test conditions as specified in the cited document, such as minimum control organism survival and appropriate environmental controls, shall constitute an invalid test and will require immediate retesting(within 30 days of initial monitoring event).
