This project will involve the completion of utility construction that was started in 2007 under sewer permit number WQ0031444. Work includes construction of 88 single family residential homes and installation of 1,835± linear feet of 8" public gravity sewer. The homes are proposed to be 4-bedroom homes with a total flow allocation of 42,240 GPD. Sewer from this project will tie into an existing City of Burlington 8" sewer main and then flow to the TZ Osborne WWTP (NC0047384) owned and operated by the City of Greensboro. OKF.'Itgiiteeriitg • Arrlrilectaare • Laurel Surveci11g Permit Modification - Project Description: This permit modification request is being made to address design changes to the existing permit number WQ0031444 issued on 3/15/2007. The main design change is associated with an increase in the average daily flow capacity of the pump station by increasing the pumping rate from 100 GPM to 210 GPM. This design change was made to better reflect home sales in today's market by providing four -bedroom homes, instead of the previously permitted three -bedroom units. There was also a request made by the City of Burlington, to provide additional capacity to serve future development to the east of the project site. Flow from the future development will be permitted separately at a later date. The current permitted flow to the pump station will be 42,240 GPD, based on the proposed Wrigley Estates Subdivision being constructed with 88 single family homes with 4 bedrooms each (480 GPD per home). Due to the sizing increase of the pump station, the forcemain will also be increased from 4" (original permit) to 6". Minor changes to the existing permit include length of sanitary sewer gravity and length of forcemain. The gravity sewer length increased from 4,636 LF on the original permit to 4,825 LF on this permit modification. This length increase was a result of comments from the City of Burlington requiring the developer to provide a connection point for future development on the east side of the project site. The forcemain length increased from 2,235 LF on the original permit to 2,310 LF on this permit modification. This length increase was a result of comments from the NCDOT requesting that the location of the road crossing be modified. We would also like to clarify that a majority of the existing sanitary sewer gravity system was installed in 2007. The existing utilities were constructed with minimum separations that met the minimum design criteria at the time, though they do not meet current requirements. Construction plans for the remaining work have been modified to comply with current utility separation requirements and will be constructed in accordance with the minimum design requirements/utility separation requirements. 740 Chapel Hill Road (27215) • P.O.
