Please reference the attached Finding of Adverse Effect Documentation for Replace Hertford
County Bridge Number 33 on NC 42 Over Ahoskie Creek Ahoskie, NC prepared by the North
Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and received in this office on April 3, 2014.
This Finding of Adverse Effect Documentation addresses potential impacts to a concrete and
timber bridge determined to be eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. The
proposed bridge replacement would impact jurisdictional waters and would require Department
of the Army authorization pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the
Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899.
I have reviewed the Finding of Adverse Effect Documentation for Replace Hertford County
Bridge Number 33 on NC 42 Over Ahoskic Creek Ahoskie, NC and conclude that the proposed
work may affect and is likely to adversely affect the subject structure and therefore, I am
requesting your review of the document pursuant to 33CFR 325 Appendix C.
Your expeditious review of the enclosed Finding of Adverse Effect Documentation for
Replace Hertford County Bridge Number 33 on NC 42 Over Ahoskie Creek Ahoskie, NC will be
