Brooks Street Wake Forest, NC 27587 1919.435.9400 www.wakeforestric.gov 8/31/2022 Per the guidelines provided by Jeanette Powell and the guidelines posted on the NCDEQ webpage for the Annual Self Assessment, the Town of Wake Forest (Town) is required to submitted a one -page letter summarizing the current status of the audit and any corresponding notice that was issued (e.g. date of audit, notice that was issued, submittal of any required documents, etc.). Below is our summary of our audit status: The Town of Wake Forest was contacted by Thad Valentine on November 2, 2021 to initiate our MS4 Audit and request associated audit documentation. The Town provided the requested documents via email on November 5th, 2021 with a cover letter explaining the attachments. On November 12, 2021, we were issued a MS4 Audit Date Notification, and the Town also submitted our Permit Renewal Application to Jeanette Powell with a copy of our draft SWMP the same day. The Town completed our MS4 audit on December 1, 2021 with Thad Valentine and Lauren Garcia at Wake Forest's Town Hall. Correspondence between Lauren Garcia and Monica Sarna continue after the in -person audit to clarify documentation that was provided during the in -person audit. The Town was issued a Notice of Compliance Letter (NOC-2021-PC1230) from DEQ dated 2/8/2022 regarding our NPDES MS4 Permit No. NCS000467. The Town provided a response to the NOC that addressed all 5 action items outlined in the NOC including acknowledgement of the NOC, a self evaluation, our Stormwater Management Plan, and our NPDES MS4 Permit Application on March 8, 2022. Prior to this submission, the Town followed up with NCDEQ in February since our current permit was expiring and we were assured that the existing permit would be automatically extended and remain in full force until the new permit is issued.
