On February 8 2022, staff from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality
(DEQ) conducted a compliance audit of the City of Concord National Pollutant
Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4)
Permit. The audit identified minor deficiencies with the specific components of the MS4
permit that were reviewed. The City has submitted a letter of acknowledgement of the
deficiencies.
The City of Concord summitted an updated SWMP and completed the required self -
audits using the supplied template form. The City of Concord is waiting on an approved
status from NC DEQ on the submittal of the updated SWMP information sent. Once the
approved SWMP is received, the City will perform the required duties to prepare for
future audits at the end of the permit cycle.
