These bridges are included in NCDOT's 2002-2008 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The purpose of this letter is to solicit your input concerning the potential impact of the proposed projects upon social, economic, demographic, land use or environmental conditions near the projects. Attached is the vicinity map and bridge demolition package for the following projects. It was constructed in 1923 and has a sufficiency rating of 48.8. It has three spans totaling approximately 97 feet in length. The deck and railings of the superstructure are composed of reinforced concrete. The substructure is composed of reinforced concrete abutments and reinforced concrete round nose post and web. The rails will be removed with out dropping them into Waters of the U. S. There is potential for components of the deck and substructure to be dropped into Waters of the U. S. during construction.
