Hi David and Andrew -
I have reviewed the information sent to me about the CDMAT LLC Storage Addition project, which proposes
to fill 0.022 acre of wetland and replace a 24-ft culvert with a 132-ft high density polyethylene (HDPE)
culvert on an unnamed tributary to Camp Branch in Henderson County.
The project should not impact wild trout and a trout moratorium is not needed for this project. We
recommend against using HDPE material, as this slick material is less likely to hold stream substrate and
provide for movement of aquatic organisms like fish and salamanders. Thank you for allowing me the
opportunity to review this project.
