PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that
Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc. has
appBed to the North Carolina Division of
Water Quality for a Water Quality Certd-
icatbn pursuant to Section 401 of the
Federel Clean Water Act and Water
Quality Commission rules in 15A NCAC
2H 1300. The activity for this Certifica-
tion is sought to issue a 401 Certifica-
tion for the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission license fot the Yadkin Pee
~ Hydroelectrtc Project - (FERC Noy
2206) in Montgomery, Stanly, Anson
and Richmond Counties, for dams at
Blawett Falls and Tillery. The applica.
lion for the project includes plans to ad-
d-~ss dissolved oxygen issues in the
Yadkin River downstream of the dams,

above-mentioned application to the Di-
visior^ of Water Quality. Comments
shall be in writing and shall be received
by the Division no later than July 18,
