Hi Zan and others -
NCWRC biologists surveyed the reach and only found a few mussels that had probably
washed down from a more substantial bed up near the bridge. We no longer have a need to
attend a pre -construction site visit, given this and the discussions that agencies, Greg, and
Zan had on site.

We are planning to hold a pre -construction meeting with the selected contractor, North State Environmental, on
September 27th at 9:30am. We will meet in the front parking area of the water plant at 4037 Haywood Rd, Mills River,
NC. We are inviting you to participate in this meeting per Condition 10 of the approved Water Quality Certification from
DWR (DWR # 96-0052 V2). The anticipated construction start date is October 17, 2022. .
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are available to attend this meeting.
10. The permittee and/or authorized agent shall conduct a pre -construction meeting with Kaylie
Yankura of the Asheville Regional Office, the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, the design
engineer, the site contractor, and any other interested permitting agency or resource agency
prior to commencement of construction so that the contractors fully understand the conditions
