Good afternoon —
To support clean closure of the Inactive Ash Basin at Cliffside Steam Station, the riser structure for the IAB will be
permanently grouted. The riser is represented by Outfall 009. Permit description: Outfall SWO09 includes the inactive
Unit S ash basin, a soil/stockpile area, a pond, and three laydown areas. Stormwater runoff is collected and conveyed to a
sedimentation basin.
This outfall will not be abandoned at this time, but will receive significantly less discharge.
Once the final plan for this area is established, the permit will be modified to represent the outfall drainage area or if the
outfall will be abandoned.
Please let me know if you have any questions or wish to discuss further.
Thank you,
J. Elizabeth Glenn
