Dear Mr. Allen and Thornburg:
The Sager Creek Vegetable Company (Sager Creek) currently operates a Waste Water Treatment
Plant (WWTP) and land application irrigation system pursuant to Division of Water Resources
(DWR) Non -Discharge Permit No. WQ0004268. This permit includes both influent and effluent
monitoring requirements.
The purpose of this letter is to formally notify you that we permanently- closed/ shut -down our
factory influent pump station as part of our factory closure on October.11, 2016. Therefore,
moving forward there will beno more influent flows from our closed factory to our facility
treatment ponds to monitor/ track.
While no more process wastewater is being generated, we do anticipate the need to continue to
operate the treatment lagoon, storage pond, and land application sites for several years to come.
Be aware that the closed factory is now being tended by a single Sager Creek employee (caretaker)
and the WWTP is being supervised/ managed by Randall Jarrell/ ORC Certification #23925. Their
office and personal needs are being serviced by a work trailer and portable toilet.
