Application Submittal and Request for No Permit Required Letter for
New Roadway Construction at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) Airport in
Greensboro, Guilford County, Division 7; STIP No. HE-0005, WBS No.
50338.1.1.
Dear Mr. Bailey:
As you are aware, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to
construct two new roadway sections, north and south of Interstate 73 (I-73) between SR
2133 (Pleasant Ridge Road) and SR 4156 (N. Regional Road) at the Piedmont Triad
International (PTI) Airport in Greensboro, Guilford County. The proposed project also
includes a roadway bridge over I-73.
This letter is to notify you of the status of the subject project. A request has been submitted
to the North Carolina Division of Water Resources (NCDWR) for a Jordan Lake
Watershed Riparian Buffer Authorization. Based on the current design, there are no
wetland or stream impacts associated with project. Therefore, NCDOT does not anticipate
either a Section 401 or Section 404 permit being required for the project. Please see the
attached Roadway Plans, Riparian Buffer Drawings, and Drawings showing that no
wetland or stream impacts will occur.
In addition to being attached, a copy of the permit application materials will be posted on
the NCDOT External Collaboration SharePoint site for the project at:

attached materials and provide a letter/memorandum confirming that the United States
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) concurs with this determination. If you have any
