(a subsidiary of ALCOA), operates a powerhouse (dam) on the Yadkin River known as High Rock Powerhouse, which generates hydroelectric power used in ALCOA's aluminum manufacturing pror.PComplex electrical generation machinery exists at this facility that requires cooling water during operation. There have been no changes and/or modifications to this facility since the Permit was last issued (12/23/92). Please note that this facility should be listed in Rowan County and not Davidson County. It was initially decided between the MRO and Raleigh Central Office that all of the dams operated by Yadkin, Inc. would be maintained by one regional office even though the dams actually bounded three (3) different regions. The goal was Qo help simplify tracking between this agency and Yadkin, Inc. m id minimize regional contacts. r, -J It is recommended that an NPDES Permit be renewed as ko requested.r f"n «i Report Preparer Date 7(1.4\ Water Quality _egional Supervisor 71 e • • • SITED STATES giCA.
