Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control
Plan Review
Reasons for Approval with Modifications
(1)Shut-off valves have been proposed for skimmer devices (sediment traps)
and in outlet structures (sediment basins) as an extra sediment control
measure during site development. It is strongly recommended that an internal
protocol be established for management of this proposed system to ensure
proper functionality of sediment basins and traps in accordance with
dewatering requirements, and to avoid unnecessary activation of emergency
spillways. (2) It will be especially critical to closely monitor and
maintain SE&SC measures in the following areas, where additional control
measures have been proposed to relieve pressure from silt fence in an
attempt to meet the requirements of the SE&SC Design Manual: (a) Area at
proposed stream crossing, north of SB-d (south side of watercourse), (b)
Area between diversion ditch #8 and silt fence, and (c) Roadway construction
on sheet EC2.10.
