Section 1001 provides a punishment by a fine of not more than $25,000 or imprisonment not more than 5 years, or both, for a similar offense.) 3 of 3 Form-D 05/08 Sludge Management Plan When our sludge settles in a jar for about 20 minutes at 40 — 45%, we start removing it by the clarifiers return. It is pumped to the sludge holding tank to be aerated and thickened. When the tank is full, the air is cut off for about six hours. The clear water on top is then pumped back to the head of the plant. The air is cut back on and the tank is refilled. This process is continued until there is not enough water to pump off. Hydrated lime is then mixed with the sludge until a pH of 12 is maintained for at least 2 hours. The sludge is removed by Lewis Farms, a permitted application site. % Solids, TCLIPs and soil testing is done at least annually.
