D. Impact Justification and Mitigation
1. Avoidance and Minimization
la Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing project
The location of the rip -rap ditch within the Neuse Buffer is designed to be as perpendicular to the buffer stream as
practicable, Since adequate space is, not present for placement of a level spreader, the proposed rip -rap channel
is designed, to provide, diffuse flow of stormwater prior to reaching the UT to the Neuse River The°ditch and
maintenance corridor are'the minimal width possible, that can still provide adequate function based on the
engineers design
1b Specifically describe measures taken -to, avoid or minimize the proposed ,im pacts, through construction techniques,
All applicable state and federal erosion and sediment control regulations wdl'be followed, during' construction No
additional riparian buffer area or jurisdictional features -will be affected during construction
