Subject: R-2241A (Person) Site 3 Drainage Revisions
Eric and Rob-
This email is for your records only so that you are aware of the existing conditions and necessary drainage revisions at R-
2241A Site 3. In the years between project design and construction, it is apparent that numerous changes were made
“by others” to include piping portions of once open stream segments to support driveway/yard changes, addition of
drop inlets, and addition of a junction box with manhole, etc. These changes will require some field adjustments in order
to get the existing drainage to tie into the project drainage. NCDOT proposes to elbow the section of pipe below the last
driveway over and match it with the proposed ditch (this will eliminate the need of a new 900mm driveway pipe). These
changes do not affect stream impacts and will be reflected in the as-builts.
Note that I’ve sent you information before about this general area. Reference email string starting 10/17/13 and
finishing on 11/08/13 for Site 3 EC question where it was decided to eliminate the installation of a skimmer basin shown
on the EC plans at STA 20+30RT.
