Applicable JSA's are reviewed and audited. • All equipment currently working has been inspected. • Pipe rafts anchored in the inlet are lit per USCG regulations. • GLDD provided USACE with contact information. Clay Willis,NC DOT, was provided with GLDD contact irrjbmi axtion. 2. Schedule a. Mobilization • The initial subline, from shore side station 29+19 to Borrow Area B has been installed. The second subline, totaling 14,500 LF -serving Borrow Area A,will be placed next—as soon as sea conditions allow. The Booster"Jack"will be incorporated in this line as well. A third subline, totaling 5000 LF,will then be installed from the southern portion of Borrow Area B to beach station 70+00+-. • Shore pipe is temporarily stored in the southern staging area, and is transported to the fill site, as needed. Shore equipment and materials are are being staged in the southern staging area and in the active beach fill work zone. • A temporary barge has been secured on the west side of HWY 12, south of the Bonner Bridge, to be used for waterside access. Crew parking is directly across HWY 12. Parking spaces have been marked by NCDOT. GLDD has secured the 50+-spaces -preventing public use. GLDD security assists personnel while crossing HWY 12. The executed SUP Amendment 3, dated 7-9-14,has been distributed. The Dredge Alaska is tentath)ebl scheduled to ar°r°im August 10-1-5,2014. b. Dredge Schedule • The Dredge Illinois arrived on 7-22-14, and began operations on 7-25-14. Cuts: B1, B11, B12, B13 have been dredged. Current position is Borrow Area B, Cut 2. • Material is being discharged at station .26-00,proceeding north to station 0+00. Filling operations will then be"flipped" and progress south to approximate station 55+00. Once the Alaska arrives, filling operations will ensue at the southern terminus (Station 105+00) and proceed north to station 55+00. The Alaska will excavate material from Borrow Area A through the second subline. A third subline will be installed to service the southern portion of Borrow Area B by the Illinois, once the northern section is complete. It is the intent of GLDD to dredge both areas concurrently. • The material being excavated and placed consists of fine to medium sand with a small percentage of shell. Samples are being taken by GLDD and various agencies. Approximately 134,613 CY of material has been placed to date. • Contract Mod 001 was executed regarding construction lighting. • USACE responded to RFI 2 on 7-25-14. • GLDD provided USACE with a copy of the NTM correspondence. • GLDD provided NOAA with notice of dredging operations. 3. Survey/Engineering • Borrow Area`B"Cut Layout has been prepared. • All pre-placement survey data has been submitted. (0+00 to 35+00 on 7-15-14; 36+00 to 105+00 on 7-18-14). USACE provided a template change with corresponding volumes. There is a discrepancy between the GLDD/ USACE projected volumes. GLDD engineers to resolve with USACE. • Borrow Area`B"BD survey data has been collected. Some discrepancies between the GLDD and USACE surveys were noted. USACE has directed GLDD to utilize the USACE survey data. • Boring locations will be oi)e°laid onto the.Borrow Area cut sheets which are generated bpr GLDD weelalY at this 4. Environmental • GLDD has secured the services of East Coast observers to monitor turtle activity within the work zone. This coverage began on 7-25-14. To date,no activity has been observed. The night time turtle monitor rel)orts will be emailed each morning to agencYpersonnel, which haw been is entijied as: KathY Herring, NCD01"- (JaY Willis,N(.'1)01',- Dennis VA , ?wart, USF&W; Ptqonli, USA CE; Hugh Heine, US(AE; Rolando ?rran o, USA CE. Hard colfies will continue to be included with the GLDD QCrel)orts. • Day time monitors have been provided with GLDD contact protocol. The overall protocol regarding all agencies has been distributed. • Contract Mod 001,was executed by GLDD/USACE and distributed. 5. Other • Due to the demanding schedules of all involved with this project, it is strongly suggested that all agencies prepare for and attend or call in,to the weekly coordination meetings. • No persons to enter the work zone without viewing the GLDD safety video.
