Permit Numbers: The Town of Newport operates the wastewater treatment system under the following permits: i. NPDES # NC0021555 ii. Land Application WQ # 0008349 iii. Collections System WQCS # 000177 c. The Town of Newport has a wastewater collection system that consists of about 26.2 miles gravity sewer and 4.7 miles of sewer force main pipeline; nine duplex lift stations; and a 1.2 MGD wastewater treatment plant. The wastewater treatment plant uses the Oxidation Ditch method of treatment. The treatment plant consistently meets our NPDES permit limits. The bio solids produced by the treatment process are recycled onto farmland as fertilizer under permit number WQ 0008349. 2. Performance List of permit violations: i. No Violations 2021-2022 Fiscal Year 3. Bio solids Disposal: There were no permit violations in our bio solids disposal program in 2021- 2022. We have permit farm site in Craven County. 4. Notification. This report has been made available to the citizens of the Town of Newport by the following means and methods: a. Copies of this report are available at Town Hall, and will be posted on the bulletin board. b. This report shall be placed on the Town of Newport Web Site. c. There will be a Notification Customer water bill. 5. Certification: I certify under penalty of law that this report is complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
