East Fork of Pigeon River Wetlands
Mitigation Plan Comments, Ginny Baker, 7 -11 -2014
The revisions in the plan increase the wetland units from 4 5 to 4 65 with a 3 1 ratio for the entire 13.95
ac This increase is due to increased treatment of invasives, however the planting area has decreased
from 5.64 to 2 26 ac.
The original plan had wetland enhancement at a 2.1 ratio for 5.66 ac and 8.29 for 5 1
If changing the ratio seems consistent with past plans then the request should be granted.
However, it might be wise to determine the areas thatiwere trea and planted and the areas that
were dust planted and the areas that were dust treatedfMaybe 2:1 for both treated and planted and dust
2 5 1 for either planted or treated. Then the rest would be preservation and receive 5 1. Figures 2 -5
seem to indicate that there is substantial areas that were not treated OR planted and therefore would
technically be considered preservation at a 5 1 ratio.
