GENERAL NOTES:
1. ALL ABOVE AND UNDERGROUND UTILITIES ARE APPROXIMATE LOCATION BASED
ON FIELD SURVEY AND THE BEST AVAILABLE RECORD DRAWINGS. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY THE SIZE, DEPTH, LOCATION, AND MATERIAL
OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION. REPORT
ANY DISCREPANCIES TO THE ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY.
2. ANY DISCREPANCIES FOUND BETWEEN THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND SITE CONDITIONS OR ANY INCONSISTENCIES OR AMBIGUITIES IN THE
DRAWINGS OR SPECIFICATIONS SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO THE
ENGINEER IN WRITING WHO WILL ADDRESS THE CONCERNS. WORK DONE BY
THE CONTRACTOR AFTER THE DISCOVERY OF SUCH DISCREPANCIES
INCONSISTENCIES OR AMBIGUITIES SHALL BE DONE SOLELY AT THE
CONTRACTOR'S RISK.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT NC ONE CALL CENTER AT LEAST 48 HOURS
BEFORE THE START OF CONSTRUCTION 1-800-632-4949.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CAREFULLY SUPPORT AND PROTECT ANY UTILITIES,
STRUCTURES, POWER POLES, PIPE LINE AND CONDUITS, ETC. WHICH MAY BE
ENCOUNTERED DURING CONSTRUCTION. ANY DAMAGE RESULTING FROM THE
CONTRACTOR'S OPERATIONS SHALL BE REPAIRED AND RESTORED BY THE
CONTRACTOR AT THEIR EXPENSE TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ENGINEER OR
OWNER OF THE UTILITY.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY WITH THE UTILITY COMPANIES THAT UTILITY
SERVICES ARE DISCONNECTED PRIOR TO BEGINNING DEMOLITION.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL USE DEMOLITION METHODS THAT DO NOT DAMAGE
ADJACENT STRUCTURES, ROADS, AND OR UTILITIES.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL WORK ONLY DURING TIMES APPROVED BY THE
OWNER OR AS REQUIRED BY THE COUNTY OR OTHER AGENCY.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL SAFETY BARRIERS AS REQUIRED BY THE
COUNTY OR AS NECESSARY TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC AND THE SITE.
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROPERLY DISPOSE OF ALL DEBRIS OFF SITE AT AN
APPROVED DISPOSAL FACILITY. DEBRIS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
ROOTS, TREES, STUMPS, UNSUITABLE SOILS, CONCRETE, ASPHALT, AND
BUILDING MATERIALS.
10. TREES SHALL BE COMPLETELY REMOVED INCLUDING ROOTS.
11. ON SITE BURNING IS NOT PERMITTED.
12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW, VERIFY, AND COORDINATE ALL
DIMENSIONS SHOWN ON THE PLANS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE
HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL LOCATION OF WATER, STORM, AND SANITARY
STRUCTURES AND CROSSINGS PRIOR TO STARTING WORK.
13. DISTANCES SHOWN ARE MEASURED HORIZONTALLY
14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH THE APPROVED NCDOT
ENCROACHMENT AGREEMENTS WHILE WORKING WITHIN THE NC DOT RIGHT
15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN TRAFFIC AT ALL TIMES DURING
CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TRAFFIC CONTROL
MEASURES AS REQUIRED BY NC DOT DURING CONSTRUCTION IN IN THE
ROADWAY OR WITHIN 5 FEET (OR GREATER IF REQUIRED BY NCDOT) OF THE

GRADING NOTES:
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE POSITIVE DRAINAGE AWAY FROM THE
BUILDINGS AND TOWARD THE CATCH BASINS.
2. SPOT ELEVATIONS SHOWN ARE FOR PAVEMENT ELEVATIONS UNLESS
NOTED OTHERWISE. TIN IS FOR TOP OF WALL BW IS FOR BOTTOM
OF WALL.
3. SOIL BORING LOCATIONS ARE APPROXIMATE. SEE SOIL REPORT FOR
SOIL DESCRIPTIONS AND INFILTRATION RATES.
