Re: Seasonal water table determination (SHWT) for proposed stormwater treatment
areas, SOF Civil Affairs Battalion Headquarters, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina
Dear Mr. Wargo,
An evaluation of soil properties on a portion of the aforementioned property has been
conducted at your request. The purpose of the investigation was to determine soil water
table depths for use in stormwater retention treatment design.
Soils in the tested areas are most similar to the Faceville soil series (see attached boring
logs). Five borings were advanced to a depth of at least 12.0 feet. Seasonal Hiah Water
Table (SHWT) as determined by evidence of colors of chroma 2 or less was encountered
at depths ranging from 119 to 148 inches below the ground surface The attached map
shows the location of the sample points.
In addition, I have reviewed the permeability rates (Ksat) you measured on site. These
rates are consistent with rates I have measured for these soil types.
I trust this is the information you require at this time.
Sincerely,
Mike Eaker
President
