The UV disinfection process.
Cause or Reason for the Upset/Spill/Bypass:
On Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 10:54 pm the plant sustained a momentary power interruption which
shut off the UV Disinfection system. The plant generator immediately came on and the UV system
was back on-line at 11:01 p.m. According to the SCADA the average flow during the 7-minute
period was 2.1 MGD therefore:
2.1 MGD X 1,000,000 / 1440 min/day = 1,458 GPM
1,458 GPM X 7.0 minutes = 10,206 gallons
Describe the Repairs Made or Actions Taken:
Power to the plant was immediately restored and operators assured all processes were working
properly.
