Submittal of Notice of Intent for coverage under NCG 1'20000 File- Dear Mr. Pickle: As discussed' during a meeting held on Wednesday September 11, 2013 between you and representatives of Duke Energy, please find enclosed, a completed Notice of Intent (NOI) for coverage of the Mayo Coal Combustion Products (CCP),residual monofill. The NCG 120000 general permit states that coverage is provided to, "All- owners or operators,of storm water point source,discharges associated with activities categorized as landfills, 'including construction and demolition debris landfills, which are permitted by the North Carolina Division of Waste Managernent,under the provisions and requirements of North Carolina General Statute 130A- 294." The Mayo Monofill received-permit number 7305 - INDUS -2012 from the North Carolina Division ofWaste Management (DWM)�in accordance with North Carolina - General, Statute 130A- 294. The DWM permit requires Duke Energy to perform twice- yearly surface water monitoring for an extensive list of constituents. As discussed, the Mayo monofill is necessary to facilitate the removal of a wastewater discharge to Mayo Reservoir in,accordance with'the Special Order by Consent between Duke Energy progress and,the North Carolina Environmental,Management Commission EMC SOC WQ S10 -012.
