SUBJECT: Proposed Roundabout at NC 98 and SR 2057/SR 4465 (Moores Pond Road) Wake and Franklin
Counties, STIP Project W-5805E
The North Carolina Department of Transportation has begun project development and environmental studies for
proposed construction of a roundabout at the intersection of NC 98 and SR 2057/SR 4465 (Moores Pond Road) in
Wake and Franklin Counties. The project is included in the 2020-2029 State Transportation Improvement Program.
A Federal CE Type I is anticipated to be prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
The attached figure shows the project location and study area.
I would appreciate any information you might have that would be helpful in evaluating potential environmental
impacts of the project. If applicable, please identify any permits or approvals which may be required by your agency.
Your comments will be used in the preparation of environmental documentation for this federally funded project.
It is anticipated this project can be processed as a categorical exclusion. This document will be prepared in
accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. It is desirable for your agency to respond by July 8, 2022,
for your comments to be used in the preparation of this document.
