Dear Mrs. King:
We are in receipt of your letter dated May 17, 2022, indicating a Notice of Violation for a SSO
along Old Fayetteville Road in Leland, Incident Number 202102296. The incident. which occurred
on December 22, 2021, was the result of a split along a ten -foot section of the 10'- force main
(FM). It appears this was simply a material failure of the 10" FM. Past failures in this area of the
system have revealed inadvertent strikes on FM's due to other utility work i.e.: cable."fiber borings,
excavations. etc. where the pipe has been damaged and not reported, creating a weak point for
future failures. We could not confirm this to be she case in this incident.
