A million people visit the lake each year to camp, swim, boat, paddle or fish and these floating mixers pose a real threat. The mixers sit low in the water and could be easily missed by boaters, water skiers and jet skiers which could result in serious injury. It is also unclear how many mixers will actually be needed to reduce the blue /green algae. There is no evidence that these mixers will work to clean up the pollution in this popular recreational destination. It seems that at most they will disperse the algae. However, this does not get at the root of the problem which is continuing inflows of nitrogen, phosphorus, fertilizers, dirt, oil, and other chemicals from upstream cities, suburbs and farms which the original legislation was designed to do. Merely stirring it up does not solve the problem of the continuing pollution of Jordan Lake. Thank you. Sincerely, Peter Landstrom 435 Nicks Bnd W Pittsboro, NC 27312
