Subject: [EXTERNAL] Clean -up the mess
Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District Mr. Justin Bashaw,
Please oppose the use of SolarBees on Jordan Lake. A million people visit the lake each year to camp, swim, boat, paddle
or fish and these floating mixers pose a real threat. The mixers sit low in the water and could be easily missed by
boaters, water skiers and jet skiers. There is also no evidence that these mixers will work to clean up the pollution in this
popular recreational destination.
About a year ago I was trying to find a fresh water lake, river, etc. that provided fishing free from pollution. After
searching for hours, I realized that there is NOTHING east of the mountains that is NOT polluted. I was shocked. Why?
Some of the worse polluters are electric companies but they are not alone. There is a serious need for severe cleaning
of Jordan Lake not just some SolarBee alternative.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Patricia McCracken
