I am very distressed to see the Lake degrade. When the Lake is even slightly low in the summer there is a lot of opacity to the water. The water is not clean. I can no longer let my dogs swim in the Lake when it is both warm weather and at low level. Then my dogs get skin rashes and very itchy. Every quarter I count eagles at the intersection of Morgan and Cub Creeks for Audubon. A few years ago there was a significant drought and this part of the Lake became very shallow and there were dead fish everywhere. The dead fish attracted around 80 eagles and many hundreds of black vultures. I oppose having the Solar Bees take the place of reducing the nutrients of nitrogen and phosphorous and metals. My reasons are as follows. 1. The Solar Bees do not treat the pollution. 2. Burlington and other towns have already implemented most of their plans to comply with the Lake Jordan Rules. Why should other towns or counties get to do nothing to reduce pollution when the BEST among us have pulled their weight? 3. The Solar Bees are not proven and are wasting valuable time when we could be reducing pollution. 4. During a drought the Solar Bees will rest on the bottom of the Lake. I can visualize Cormorants perching on them now. Solar Bees create a boating hazard and are ugly. Will mixing up the sediment on the Lake bottom be eaten by fish? Is this sediment full of metals? This fine Lake which attracts recreational money and appreciation will be viewed less favorably by more discerning nature lovers. This solution is a joke. Thank you for your consideration of my comments. Martha Girolami 473 Mount Pisgah Church Rd Apex, NC 27523 919 - 362 -5759
