Area scientists who are not connected to the project have written extensively about the circulators being ineffective in large bodies of water. Not only do they not clean algae from the water, but they stir up sediment contaminated with mercury which can further damage the lake's water quality and aquatic life. This appears to be a boondoggle project most enthusiastically endorsed by those who stand to profit from the purchase of the circulators and by those who are reluctant to invest in cleaning and keeping clean our source of essential drinking water. It also appears to be yet another short sighted Army Corps of Engineer's project which will do more long term harm than anticipated. Martha M. McMakin Raleigh, NC Sent from my Pad
