Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District Mr. Justin Bashaw, I urge you to please oppose the use of SolarBees on Jordan Lake. The federal Clean Water Act requires that pollution be treated at the source of the problem, not downstream in public waters. By employing floating mixers (known as SolarBees) downstream in Jordan Lake the state is not complying with federal law. Another option maybe a lake restorer. Which is a raft or rafts that have specific plants growing on it that thrive on nitrates and oil and other polutants. The plants can then be used to make furniture or bouquets or composted... These rafts can be strategically placed or free floating or both. Be in touch if I can help. And best of luck!!! Lol Leslie baker. Jordan Lake is plagued by nitrogen and phosphorus pollution from upstream sources and these unproven floating mixers do not treat that. When these mixers fail to do their job, the condition of Jordan Lake will be worse than ever. Please oppose the use of SolarBees on Jordan Lake. Thank you.
