Subject: [EXTERNAL] Fix the problem, Do Not put a bandaid on it- Lake Jordan pollution
Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District Mr. Justin Bashaw,
I am writing to you today to oppose the use of SolarBees on Jordan Lake. There is no evidence that these poorly -
conceived floating mixers will clean up the pollution. Jordan Lake is plagued by nitrogen and phosphorus pollution from
upstream sources and these mixers do not treat that type of pollution. Lets address the source of the problem, don't put
a temporary fix on it. When these mixers fail to do their job, the condition of Jordan Lake will be worse than ever.
I would pay more in taxes if I know it would fix problems and not go toward graft.
Please oppose the use of SolarBees on Jordan Lake.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Laurel Callis
